The Whiteswan Mile
An iconic, but perhaps archaic distance in running, the mile has been said to be the true measure of a runner. The Saskatoon Road Runners Association is pleased to present the Whiteswan Road Mile on Sunday, July 12, 2026. Open to all runners, and doubling as the Saskatchewan Athletics Road Mile Championships, this event has been reimagined on a new, flat and fast course. It’s your opportunity to test your mettle against the mile.
Funds raised by this event will be used to support the Huskie Athletics Track and Field and Cross Country Running teams.
The Open Mile
This event features chip timing on a certified course.
Prizes:
1st Overall (Male & Female): $150
2nd Overall (Male & Female): $100
3rd Overall (Male & Female): $50
Non-cash prizes will be provided for the top male and female finishers in U20, 20-34, and all masters categories. Gender-diverse runners are also welcome, but are not eligible for age-class awards at this time.
The Invitational Mile
Western Canada’s top distance runners will toe the line for the exciting Invitational Mile. This event features chip timing on a certified record-eligible course.
Invitational Standards:
Men: 4:30 (4:10 1500m)
Women: 5:28 (5:04 1500m)
Individuals who have met these standards should reach out to our Invitational Event Coordinator at kadennilson99@gmail.com to apply for entrance to the Invitational Events.
Invitational Prize Money:
1st - $700
2nd - $500
3rd - $300
4th - $200
5th - $100
A velocity bonus will be provided to the Invitational Mile Champions if they break the velocity standards set out below:
Male - 4:00
Female - 4:36
Entry Fee
Open (age-class) Mile:
Before May 7, 2026: $35.00 plus taxes & Race Roster processing fee.
After May 7, 2026: $45.00 plus taxes & Race Roster processing fee.
SRRA members receive a $10.00 discount.
Kids (8-12): $10.00 (no SRRA discount) plus taxes and Race Roster processing fee.

11:45 Announcement of winners and award presentations to finishers in each age category. Prediction Mile Winners announced. Snacks and refreshments.
