Q: Are headphones/earbuds allowed during the race?
A: Yes, must be low enough to hear other racers.
Q: Is there a time limit to complete the race?
A: 14 hours.
Q: Are there restrooms or porta-potties near the start/finish or on course?
A: Yes, there will be porta potties at the start and finish of the race. Availability at the top of the ski mountains is not confirmed and extra distance from the aid stations. Please don't try a new breakfast on race day.. its a public trail :)
Q: Where are the start and finish lines located?
A: The start line is the Parkgate village in the North Shore and the finish line is The Shed, Cypress Village Pop-Up Lookout.
Q: Will there be water stations on the course?
A: Aid station 1 - 12.5km, top of cypress mountain
Aid station 2 - 30km, Rice Lake Area
Aid station 3&4 - 38km, Bottom of Grouse Mountain
Aid station 5 - 52km, start of Cypress climb
Q: Will I get a medal/shirt?
A:Yes, completion medals will be given out to finishers. Shirt is included in registration fees.
Q: Are poles allowed?
A: No
Q: Are Pacers allowed?
A: No
Q: Are there cups at aid stations?
A: No, to reduce our enviromental impact we require runners to bring their own reusable cups to use at aid stations.
Q: What if it rains?
A: We run, type 2 fun.
Q: Is there a shuttle?
A: No there is not, runners are encouraged to get dropped off at the start line by friends/family, rideshare/taxi or public transit, due to the point to point nature of the event.
Q: Will trails be closed down to the public?
A: No. Please be respectful of other trail users.
Q: What do I get if I finish?
A: Physical proof in the form of a medal that you indeed "probably could do all three in one day".
Q: What was the course design philosophy?
A: Cyclists have been doing all three mountains in one day for years with 110psi tires and 20 gear speed machines. We only need two feet and a heart beat.
Q: Can my crew bring me anything at the aid stations?
A: Absolutely. Pizza, beer, a therapist, or a time machine to unregister. Most usually just bring words of encouragement. There will be drinks and snacks to keep you fueled.
Q: Do I get a medal if I DNF?
A: Unfortunately no, medals are only for finishers. If you tap our early your prize is unlimited high fives from volunteers, a killer story and a reason to sign up again next year. I think the BMO marathon gives them out to everyone.. you could try there!
