J. Barry Dwyer Red Devil Turkey Trot

About J. Barry Dwyer

The J. Barry Dwyer Red Devil Turkey Trot has been permanently renamed in honor of the late J. Barry Dwyer, a beloved fixture of both the Chelsea community and the high school track and cross-country programs. Dwyer led the boys cross-country program of the 1970s and 1980s to several Commonwealth Athletic Conference championships, earning the program recognition as one of the greatest dynasties in the history of Chelsea High School sports. Dwyer stayed active with local high school track and cross country long after his retirement and is missed dearly by not only the Chelsea community, but by the entire Greater Boston League and beyond.
