The Cousins Memorial Run is an adventurous event to remember three cousins, Jireh, Sophie, and Acacia Goertzen who have finished their earth side run, and for us to choose to live well and look for God’s goodness in the land of the living. Any suffering we endure produces perseverance, which cultivates character, which grows hope in the waiting.
Funds raised from the 2026 Cousins Memorial Run will go towards the Campership Fund at Roseau River Bible Camp located in Roseau River, Manitoba.
Duane and Sylvia Goertzen, along with all their children are involved in this year-round camp that has over 1100 children and youth stay, play, learn and grow at camp each summer. Their daughters, Sophie and Acacia Goertzen both worked at RRBC over several summers in various capacities, but the most meaningful times were those spent with children who just needed a friend. The Campership Fund helps children and youth from low-income households or with financial barriers attend summer camp. These funds cover camp fees, ensuring that financial constraints do not prevent participation, allowing kids to experience the developmental, social, and recreational benefits of camp.
