RACE MECHANICS
SAFETY
Participants must follow all instructions from event officials, staff, and volunteers at all times. For everyone’s safety, skates, strollers, bicycles, or any wheeled devices are not allowed unless specifically approved by the organizers. Costumes that cover the face or extend beyond the body’s perimeter are strictly prohibited.
RUNRIO reserves the right to modify, delay, cancel, or suspend the race in case of inclement weather or any condition that may pose a safety risk. Participants must immediately withdraw from the race if instructed to do so by event officials, medical staff, or government authorities (including police, firefighters, or safety officers).
SPORTSMANSHIP
Participants must conduct themselves respectfully and in a sportsmanlike manner. Any behavior deemed offensive, aggressive, or disruptive toward event officials, other runners, volunteers, or spectators may result in disqualification and removal from the venue.
Protests regarding race results will be accepted up to one (1) hour after official posting. All protests must be submitted in writing to event officials or emailed to info@runrio.com, along with a ₱5,000 protest fee. Verbal protests will not be entertained.
ENTRY FORM
All participants must provide accurate personal information, including age, gender, and emergency contact details, when completing the registration form. It is strongly recommended that the emergency contact person be a family member residing nearest the race venue.
Requests to modify registration information will not be accepted once the event has started. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. All entry fees are non-refundable, non-transferable, and cannot be deferred to future events.
AGE LIMIT
16K: 16 years and above
10K: 16 years and above
5K: 13 years and above
3K: 5 years old and above
1K: 5 years old and above
Participants below 18 years old must secure parental or guardian consent, with the parent/guardian signing the entry form.
RACE NUMBER
Participants must wear their official race number (bib) visibly on the front of their attire at all times. Running without a race number is not allowed.
Each bib contains a timing chip on its reverse side—do not fold, wrinkle, or cover it (with a belt, jacket, or water bottle) to ensure accurate timing.
The back of the race bib must be completely filled out, including the emergency contact number of a family member based in Manila.
If your race number is lost, you must register again. Race numbers are non-transferable and may not be sold or given to another person. Any participant found transferring or using another person’s bib will be disqualified and barred from future RUNRIO events.
HYDRATION
Hydration stations are strategically positioned approximately every 2 to 2.5 km along the route. Participants will have access to both water and sports drinks, complemented by bananas for those participating in longer distance categories. Littering is strictly prohibited; dispose of waste responsibly in designated bins.
SUPPORT
Medical personnel will be stationed along the route as well as at the start and finish lines to ensure participants safety. If you require medical assistance during the race, please follow these procedures:
On the Course:
In case of a medical emergency or the need for assistance, approach the nearest medical personnel stationed along the route.
Look for the distinctive medical tents or personnel wearing identifiable medical vests.
Start and Finish Lines:
Medical support is available at both the start and finish lines. Seek assistance from the designated medical areas or personnel if needed.
Emergency Contact Information:
Familiarize yourself with any emergency contact information provided on your race bib or in the participant guide.
Communication Devices:
If you have a personal communication device, use it to alert event staff or medical personnel in case of an emergency.
Your well-being is our priority. Do not hesitate to seek medical assistance if you experience any health concerns during the race. It is the responsibility of participants to inform race officials of any existing medical conditions.
THE START
Participants must arrive at their assigned starting corral on time. Climbing barricades or entering corrals improperly may lead to disqualification. Once a corral is closed, latecomers must proceed to the next available corral.
Participants who fail to start within 15 minutes after their flag-off time will be disqualified, and no official result will be issued.
TIMING
Official finish times are recorded using the chip timing system, measuring the time from when participants cross the start line to when they cross the finish line.
However, top finishers will be determined based on gun time (from the start signal to finish).
THE COURSE
The race course is measured and certified according to RUNRIO standards. Participants must remain within the designated course boundaries at all times. Failure to do so may result in disqualification.
Participants who leave the course are not allowed to rejoin the race for any purpose, including claiming finisher entitlements or pacing others.
Unofficial pacers and unregistered participants are not allowed. Assistance from anyone other than official medical personnel may lead to disqualification.
ENVIRONMENTAL RESPONSIBILITY
Participants are strongly encouraged to dispose of waste responsibly throughout the event. Let us show respect to mother Earth by adopting mindful waste disposal practices. Utilize designated bins for proper disposal of waste materials, promoting cleanliness and environmental consciousness
PHOTOS & MEDIA
Official event photographers and videographers will capture participants during the race. By participating, you consent to the use of your images and footage for promotional purposes.
THE FINISH
For safety and traffic management, race courses will close after their designated cut-off times.
Only registered participants who successfully complete their respective race categories are eligible to receive official finisher entitlements.

The following are strictly prohibited within the race and venue areas:
