River Action's Father's Day family bicycle ride tradition returns June 21, 2026 to the Rock Island Arsenal Island to celebrate America's 250th birthday!
Online Registration is now CLOSED. You can still register on Saturday and Sunday at the ride headquarters tent:
-- Headquarters tent located in downtown Rock Island across from Schweibert Park on the SW corner of 17th St. and 1st Ave. in Rock Island.
-- Open for registration and packet pick up Saturday, June 20 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and Sunday, June 21 7:30 a.m. - noon.

This year, River Action is thrilled to present Ride the Island, an exciting twist on Ride the River! Join us on Father's Day for the opportunity to ride the roads and trails on the Rock Island Arsenal while exploring its rich history and visiting iconic landmarks. Enjoy a fun-filled day with live music, food, and activities for all ages as we celebrate Fathers and 250 years of the United States. Registration costs are $5 more on June 20 and 21, so sign up early!
This event is "Open House" style and runs 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The total route is about 10 miles but you can make your ride as long or short as you wish, depending on the stops you make and how many loops you want to take!
- Helmets are REQUIRED for all riders on Arsenal Island.
- Don’t have one? You can buy one for $10 from River Action.
- Two repair stations will be available along the route.
- Passes to Arsenal Island are NOT required of registants to participate in this event.
- No headphones or earbuds.
- E-bikes are allowed and must follow etiquette below to keep everyone safe:
! Travel at a rate of speed that is reasonable and prudent, not exceeding 15 mph.
! Announce yourself when passing cyclists and pedestrians.
! Look over your shoulder before turning.
! Watch for little kids who are learning bicycle etiquette.
! Stay aware of your surroundings.
