I Run for Girls Is Going Virtual
The nor’easter that affected our area this past weekend meant we could not safely gather at Orange Reservoir for the I Run for Girls 5K on Saturday September 26. We made the difficult decision to postpone the in-person race and move it to a virtual 5K, putting the safety of our participants, Girl Scouts, volunteers, partners, and staff first.
That means we can still take part together, from wherever we are. From Sunday, October 4, through Sunday, October 11, complete your 5K at a time and place that works for you. Run a favorite route, walk with family, use a treadmill, or make your own path to the finish line. Run it. Walk it. Treadmill it. Trail it. Dance it.
Our Virtual 5K Participant Toolkit has everything you need to plan your 5K, share your experience, and celebrate with the GSHNJ community. Take photos and videos along the way—from your starting line to your finish-line celebration—and tag @GSHeartofNJ when you post them. Throughout the week, we’ll share encouragement and race moments on our social media channels so we can cheer each other on wherever we are.
