R3 (Run, Ride, Repeat) is a two hour land only workout class focusing on the sports of biking and running, and practicing the transitions between the two. After simulating the transition out of the swim, participants will bike around the lake, return to transition and then go out on a short run. Participants will repeat that sequence two to four times throughout the class, which is sometimes referred to as a ‘brick’ workout.
Swim Practice is a one hour class that allows participants to practice swim skills with the supervision and feedback of a coach and the training captains. This class occurs within the standard buoyed swim area.
Class Policies
Weather and environmental conditions: All classes operate under similar weather policies as the race. The first choice is to delay or modify a class. Air quality in the red (AQI over 150) will cancel the class. It takes AQI over 200 for the race to cancel. If a class is canceled for weather reasons, participants will be transferred into another class of their choice.
