ABOUT THE EVENT
The Run To The Rhythm 5K & Fun Run is a community-centered race supporting the Wylie East High School Band Programs. This family-friendly event welcomes runners, walkers, band families, alumni, and the entire Wylie community to come together for a morning of music, movement, and school spirit. Food trucks, face painting, and sponsorship throughout! The Wylie East Band will be PLAYING LIVE throughout the course! Run To The Rhythm of the Wylie East Band!
Hosted on the Wylie East campus, the race features live band spirit, course support, and fun recognition categories. Every dollar raised directly supports the award-winning Wylie East Band, helping fund equipment, travel, student scholarships, and program needs.
For Serious Runners
The Run To The Rhythm 5K offers a well-organized, accurately measured course designed to appeal to competitive and experienced runners. With professional timing, clear age-group divisions, and medal awards across eight categories per gender, the race provides a structured and rewarding race-day experience. Whether you’re aiming for a personal best, chasing a podium finish, or building early-season mileage, this 5K delivers a focused, runner-friendly environment supported by volunteers, course marshals, and an energetic Wylie East Band presence along the route.
For Families & Fun Run Participants
The Fun Run is a relaxed, family-friendly event perfect for children, new runners, walkers, and anyone who wants to enjoy movement and community spirit without the pressure of a timed race. Participants can run, walk, skip, or dance their way through the course, and every finisher receives a celebration sticker—plus all children under 18 earn a special Fun Run medal. It’s a joyful way to experience the event together, support the Wylie East Band, and start the morning with excitement and school pride.
