New York / Cottage Valley Experience Dragon Boat Racing with GWN Dragon Boat
So you want to try dragon boat racing this summer, but are unsure where to begin. Rounding up twenty friends and co-workers can be like herding cats—er, dragons. That’s exactly why we created a recreational program within Valley Cottage, New York, 30 miles north of Manhattan, to help get you on the water this summer.
There is one Experience Dragon Boat Racing Program option available: the Race Ready Package.

Program Details
Great for locals who want to try a new sport or for paddlers who love to travel and want to join a team at the New York International Dragon Boat Festival.
What you get:
- 1 practice with a coach the week leading up to the New York International Dragon Boat Festival (Friday July 10th, Time TBD)
- All equipment provided (boats, paddles, lifejackets)
- Entry to the New York International Dragon Boat Festival along with the other program members on July 11th, 2026
- Team shirt for the festival
- Team tent in the Athletes' Village at the festival
