FAQ
Q. How do I volunteer?
A. You can contact alumni@hollandcollege.com for details on volunteering for this event. With over 20 volunteers required, roles will range from on-course marshals to finish line timers.
Q. Are strollers, wheelchairs or pets allowed on the course?
A. Strollers, wheelchairs and service animals are permitted on the course, as we hope to make this event as inclusive and enjoyable as possible.
Q. Is the race timed?
A. The event will be manually timed (i.e. no chip timing) using a race clock. Volunteers will record times based on participant bib numbers as they cross the finish line. Official results will be posted after the race.
Q. When and where do I pick up my race kit?
A. Race kit pickup will be available at the McMillan Centre for Community Engagement (323 Grafton Street, Charlottetown) from 12:00 - 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday ahead of the event (i.e. September 17-19). Race-day pickup will also be available at the same location from 8:00 - 8:40 a.m. for those unable to make early pickup options.
Q. Can someone else pick up my race kit for me?
A. Yes. They will need a copy of your registration confirmation and/or ID.
Q. Will there be prizes?
A. Yes! Rather than awarding divisional prizes based on results, we'll be giving out all prizes based on a random draw (i.e. door prizes). The winners will be announced before the race, with pickup inside the McMillan Centre for Community Engagement after the event. We're looking forward to giving out a number of great prizes supplied by various areas within the College as well as our community partners!
Q. Is there parking available at the event?
A. Yes, parking will be available around campus, including the Holland College student and staff parking lots on Grafton Street (i.e. between campus and Wendy's). We recommend arriving early and considering carpooling if possible.
Q. Is there a maximum time for the event?
A. To limit the amount of time our volunteers are required at their stations throughout the event, we ask all participants to complete the walk/run in 75 minutes or less. If you anticipate that you could take longer but would still like to participate in the event, please contact alumni@hollandcollege.com after you have completed the registration process.
