My Story…
A little bit about me and why I’m participating in Maggie’s Run.
When I was 9 years old my grandma, Ida Sophia Craig, was diagnosed with vascular dementia and came to live with my family. I helped care for her for many years and learned a lot about dementia and empathetic caregiving.
Fast forward 30 years and I found myself involved with McCormick Dementia Services. Although my time working there was brief, it was incredibly meaningful. I witnessed firsthand every day the compassionate caregiving by the wonderful staff and dedicated volunteers.
