On Saturday, October 17, 2026, the Southeast Health Foundation invites you to turn up the volume for the 18th annual Champions of Hope! We’re heading back to The Plant in downtown Dothan, and this year, we’re ready to "Rock Out Cancer."
This event creates a one-of-a-kind opportunity for people who have faced or are facing cancer to connect as a community and celebrate milestones with the family, friends, physicians, and care providers who support them every step of the way. The celebration is open to everyone whose life has been touched by cancer, regardless of where they were treated. Let’s #LOVEDOTHAN and come together as a community to support each other.
To match our "Rock Out Cancer" theme, we are thrilled to feature local high school bands throughout the event to keep the energy high and the music loud. Highlights of the day also include the non-competitive Molly’s Mile walk and a chip-timed 5K or 10K throughout historic downtown Dothan. Participants will receive special commemorative event t-shirts and finisher medals, and the venue will be filled with roving entertainment, activities for the family, local vendors, and inspiring speakers.
Raising more than one million dollars since its inception in 2008, proceeds from Champions of Hope help expand cancer services, programs, and patient support in our community. 2026 Champions of Hope
Funding Project:
The "Champions of Hope" Patient Comfort Initiative
The Wieland Healthcare Accord collection is an essential component of modern cancer treatment, engineered to improve the safety and well-being of both patients and clinicians during the treatment journey. The system introduces innovative features like safeBrake, which provides superior stability by gripping the floor directly rather than just stopping the casters, and intelliTrac, a magnetic caster system that helps guide the chair straight through corridors to minimize physical strain on staff. Recognizing the challenges of lengthy infusions, the chair offers significant upgrades for patient comfort and amenities, including strategically placed soothing heat and gentle massage designed specifically to ease anxiety and promote relaxation. To further support patient well-being, integrated USB charging ports allow individuals to stay connected to their support networks or enjoy distractions like music and podcasts during their care.

Turning Up the Volume:
Champions of Hope 2026
This year, we are trading the boxing ring for the big stage as we debut our high-energy new theme: Rock Out Cancer!
Building on our legacy as The Champions, we are proving that the concert isn’t over. Champions of Hope is more than a race; it is a legendary anthem of resilience. We are cranking up the volume to fight side-by-side for every survivor, every headliner in their own battle, and every family impacted by cancer.
Mark your calendars, grab your backstage pass, and lace up your running shoes. Join us as we take the stage together - because in this stadium, no one fights alone!
