Get ready for the 2026 Black Hills Runners Club Turkey Trot, happening at Old Storybook Island! Whether you’re walking or running, it’s a great way to kick off your Thanksgiving Day. Walkers or those not wanting to be timed can start at any time after 8:30 a.m., while our timed participants will start promptly 9:00 a.m.
WE HAVE A LIMITED NUMBER OF FINISHER MEDALS AVAILBLE.
TO ENSURE YOU RECEIVE YOUR MEDAL WITH REGISTRATION
YOUR RACE BIB MUST BE VISIBLE AT ALL TIMES AND ONLY THOSE REGISTERED WITH A BIB WILL RECEIVE A MEDAL.
***If you want to ensure your kiddos receive a finisher medal they will need to be registered and have their bib visible.***

In order to be entered into the drawing for your chance to win a pie, you MUST BE REGISTERED BY THE CLOSE OF REGISTRATION.
The store open this year if you wish to purchase any shirts. Make your selection and your item(s) will be added to your cart to complete your purchase with your race registration. ORDERS MUST BE COMPLETED AND PURCHASED BY NOVEMBER 18, 2026.
WE HAVE A VERY LIMITED QUANTITY OF EXCLUSIVE 5 PANEL TURKEY TROT RACING HATS FOR $12. THIS PURCHASE OPTION WILL CLOSE WHEN THE HATS HAVE BEEN SOLD OUT.
There is no BHRC discount available for this race.
Don’t forget to check your email. You will receive your registration confirmation. Further Turkey Trot Day instructions and route details will be sent out as we get closer to race day.
For early packet pickup, stop by the Black Hills Running Company at 1130 W. Omaha, 57702 on November 25 from 10:30 am to 5:30 p.m.
We will have packet pickup the morning of from 7:30 a.m. until 8:15 a.m. But strongly encourage early packet pickup due to the volume of participants we have joining us for the Turkey Trot.
With the exception of service animals, we ask that furry family members stay home.
Get ready for a fun, festive race with refreshments like apple cider, water, and cookies to enjoy after your race to keep you fueled until your family feast!!!
You will receive an email confirmation of your registration along with race details. Make sure to check your spam/junk folder if you do not receive your race confirmation.

EVENT DETAILS
The timed hard start for the Turkey Trot will begin promptly at 9:00 a.m.
Participants who prefer not to be timed can start at any time after 8:30 a.m.
Results of the annual pie drawing will be available by 9:15 a.m., so you'll know if you've won a delicious pie!
To keep you refreshed, we'll have apple cider, water, and cookies available after the event.
Come enjoy the race, the treats, and the festive atmosphere and don't forget to get your group photos at our photobooth!!
Trotter will also make a celebrity appearance and to join you for your photos.
