“I’ve Got Your Back.”
In the First Responder community, "Got your 6" means watching someone’s back. On October 3rd, 2026, the Alberta First Responders Association (AFRA) invites you to show our frontline heroes that we have theirs.
The "We Got Your 6-km" is more than just a race; it is a movement to support the mental health, resilience, and suicide prevention of Alberta’s First Responders. 100% of the proceeds from this event go directly to our 1st Health initiative, providing peer support and specialized psychological resources for those who protect our communities.

Distance: 6-km (Symbolizing "The 6")
Format: Run, Walk, or Ruck (Weighted pack/vest encouraged!)
Why We Run (and Ruck)
Our First Responders face challenges that most can't imagine. The 6-km distance is a nod to the tactical term "Got your 6." Whether you are a first responder yourself, a family member, or a grateful community member, every step you take helps fund:
Peer Support Programs for frontline workers.
Suicide Prevention Training specifically for first responders.
Mental Health supports to ensure no hero suffers in silence.
The Experience
The Finisher Medal: Every participant receives our signature 2026 "We Got Your 6" Finisher Medal.
The Wellness Village: Explore our on-site hub featuring local health and wellness partners, gear demos, and first responder displays.
The Ruck Option: For those looking for an extra challenge, grab your rucksack or weighted vest and join our tactical participants in the rucking category.

Take on the We Got Your Six-KM alongside your best friend! By registering for the K9 Division, you and your dog will tackle the trail together. This registration includes our standard finisher swag for the human, PLUS an exclusive branded K9 custom 'Split-Medal'—featuring a detachable metal dog bone that clips right onto your dog's collar at the finish line! (Note: Dogs must remain on a fixed leash at all times)
