DanceBlue: Chasing After J.O.Y. 5K!
DanceBlue is a completely student-run philanthropy at the University of Kentucky dedicated to supporting the DanceBlue Hematology/Oncology Clinic at Kentucky Children’s Hospital. Inspired by Jarrett Mynear’s final request to “do something to help the Clinic,” DanceBlue raises funds and awareness year-round in the fight against pediatric cancer, providing care and support for patients and their families.
These efforts culminated in a 24-hour no sitting, no sleeping dance marathon, the grand finale to months of fundraising through events such as mini marathons, a silent auction, and our annual 5K run/walk. Every dollar raised goes directly to supporting Kentucky families at the DanceBlue Hematology/Oncology Clinic at Golisano’s Children’s at the University of Kentucky.
Our fight against pediatric cancer is fought through providing Clinic improvements, groundbreaking research, and emotional/financial patient support year-round. DanceBlue will continue to spread joy for those who are fighting, in memory of the lives lost, and to celebrate every victory until the battle against pediatric cancer is won.
For students planning to participate in the marathon, the 5K registration is worth 20 SPIRIT POINTS! Registration prices will increase the week before registration closes at 11:59 PM on Sunday, October 11th. The first 500 registered participants will be guaranteed their preferred t-shirt size, so sign up today!

Packets must be picked up during one of the times listed below—there will be no race-day pickup!
UK Student Pick-Up
Location: DanceBlue Office — Gatton Student Center, Room 262A
Pick-Up Times:
Tuesday, October 13th: 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM & 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM
Wednesday, October 14th: 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM & 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM
Thursday, October 15th: 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM & 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM
Friday, October 16th: 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM
All student packets must be picked up by Friday, October 16th at 2:00 PM.
Community Pick-Up
Location: John's Run/Walk Shop — 317 S Ashland Ave

Saturday, October 17th: TIMES ARE TBD
You will not be able to pick up your packets at the 5K. If none of the above dates/times work for you, please email operations@danceblue.org to schedule a pick-up time outside of these.
