Start your GermanFest celebration with a scenic run (or walk!) along the beautiful Mississippi River at the annual GermanFest 5K in historic Guttenberg, Iowa. The fun begins at 8:50 a.m. with the Kids' Inflatable Dash, where children race through a course lined with giant inflatables, earning high-fives and plenty of smiles along the way. The GermanFest 5K begins at 9:00 a.m., welcoming runners and walkers of all ages to one of Iowa's most picturesque race courses while celebrating community, fitness, and tradition.
Beginning in front of the Guttenberg Area Veterans Memorial at the intersection of Main Street and River Park Drive, the course follows Guttenberg's scenic riverfront, offering breathtaking views of the Mississippi River and Lock & Dam No. 10.
After you cross the finish line, the celebration is just getting started! Spend the day at GermanFest enjoying authentic German food and beer, lively polka music, an open-air arts & crafts market, the popular wiener dog races, beer tasting, family-friendly activities, and so much more.
Best of all, your participation makes a difference. Proceeds from this year's GermanFest 5K will benefit the GMHC Family Resource Center Endowment, helping ensure individuals and families throughout our communities have access to vital programs and services for years to come.
