Wild Gravel wouldn’t be possible without the incredible volunteers who help bring the event to life each year. From welcoming riders at registration to cheering competitors along the course, our volunteers are at the heart of the Wild Gravel experience.
Set against the spectacular Stirling Range landscape, Wild Gravel is more than a race; it’s a community event built on teamwork and local pride. Whether you can spare a few hours or help across the full weekend, we’d love to have you involved.
No previous experience is necessary for most roles, and volunteers will receive a briefing prior to the event.

Friday Helpers - General Support
General Event Support (Day Before) Help bring Wild Gravel to life before event day begins. General Event Support volunteers assist with competitor pack collection, event village setup, signage installation, equipment preparation, and a variety of behind-the-scenes tasks to ensure everything is ready for a smooth event weekend. This role is perfect for flexible, hands-on volunteers who are happy to jump in wherever needed.

Pit Stop Volunteer
Help keep competitors fuelled, hydrated and motivated at our course pit stops. Pit Stop Volunteers assist with handing out water and nutrition, supporting riders and runners as they pass through, and helping create an encouraging atmosphere on course. This role is perfect for friendly, energetic volunteers who enjoy interacting with participants and being part of the action. Please note this role requires own transport to get to Pit Stop on course

On-course Marshal
Be the eyes and ears of the course while helping keep competitors safe and on track. On-Course Marshals assist with directing riders and runners, monitoring key course locations, and providing encouragement along the route. This role is ideal for volunteers who enjoy being outdoors and playing an important part in the event experience.

Merchandise Crew
Help visitors and competitors take home a piece of Wild Gravel. Merchandise Crew volunteers assist with displaying and selling event merchandise, processing purchases, managing stock levels, and providing friendly customer service throughout the event. This role is perfect for volunteers who are approachable, organised and enjoy interacting with people.

Registration Team
Welcome competitors as they arrive and help set the tone for an incredible Wild Gravel experience. Registration Team volunteers assist with participant check-in, rider pack collection, answering event questions, and ensuring the registration process runs smoothly and efficiently. This role suits organised, friendly volunteers who enjoy working with people in a fast-paced environment.

Finish Line Marshals

This role is ideal for enthusiastic volunteers who enjoy high-energy environments and cheering participants home.

Bus Driver
Help keep Wild Gravel moving! Our Bus Drivers transport participants between Mt Trio Bush Camp, parking areas and the Event Village, ensuring everyone gets where they need to be safely and on time. You'll be one of the first friendly faces competitors meet, helping kick-start their Wild Gravel adventure while enjoying some of the best views in the region.
