Daffodil Dash – Frequently Asked Questions
Why is it called the Daffodil Dash?
Because it is part of the Kyneton Daffodil and Arts Festival, and early September is when daffodils bloom in Kyneton, marking the coming of Spring. The Daffodil Dash is held on Father's Day as part of the Kyneton Daffodil & Arts Festival. Please check the festival website for the entire festival program.
What makes this event special?
This is a completely community and volunteer organised and run event, as part of a quirky festival centred around daffodils. Located in the centre of a regional town, the course features one of Victoria's finest botanic gardens, a picturesque walking path along the Campaspe River and for the longer distance, the Kyneton Racecourse, often referred to as the prettiest country racecourse in Victoria.
Where does the event start and finish?
The event starts and finishes at Kyneton Botanic Gardens in Kyneton. A link to a course map is available on the event website.

What surface is the course?
The Maple Physiotherapy 11.5km course is quite varied, with wide gravel track, bitumen and concrete sections, some dirt track and some short sections of grass. This is more technical than the 5km course, although not particularly technical overall and there are no steep inclines.
5km course is mostly wide gravel track, as well as some bitumen and concrete
Is the event timed?
Yes. The event will be professionally timed with Melbourne-based Tomato Timing on site.

When do I collect my race bib?
Bib collection details will be emailed before the event. At this stage, we are planning for one bib collection session the day before (Sat 5th Sep) and on the morning of the event. We are not posting them out. All participants must wear their bib during the event. Please note that the bib is fitted with a timing chip and it will only start recording your time after you cross the start line.
Can someone collect my race bib for me?
Yes. They should bring your registration confirmation or authorisation.
What time should I arrive?
Please arrive at least 15–30 minutes before your event starts to allow time for parking, bib collection, warm-up and announcements.
Event Day

Can I wear headphones?
