Our story…
We’re running as the Cheeky Striders because cancer has touched our family in a deeply personal way. After Lisa and her husband were both diagnosed with cancer in July 2025, they were surrounded by “angels” who helped carry them through surgeries, chemotherapy, radiation, and recovery. Today, they are both cancer-free—and still striding forward.
We’re running in their honor, with the hope of raising awareness and showing that cancer doesn’t get the last word. Our fundraising, however, directly supports the Sterling Community Center and its mission in our community. We’re proud to run for a cause that brings people together while celebrating the strength, love, and resilience that carried our family through cancer.
