PHL5K - 9th Annual

Welcome to the 9th annual PHL5K! This is your chance to run the tarmac at Philadelphia International Airport, with commercial and general aviation aircraft taking off and landing on the runways around you.
While you're on the airfield, check out the displays of fire apparatus, snow-removal equipment, and airline ground support equipment up close. There aren't many races that put you on an active airport - come see why runners come back year after year.
Bring the whole family
There's something for every age in the festival zone, just outside the tarmac:
- FREE Kids Dash - Age brackets are for ages 1, 2–3 and 4–5 years old
- Face painting
- Mascots
- Plus more kids' activities
The Kids Dash takes place in our enclosed parking area, designed just for fun and built to bring the feel of the airfield race to your little ones.
There will be a limited supply of super capes for the Kids Dash.
Supporting our community
Race proceeds benefit local charities, including the March of Dimes, the Eastwick Friends & Neighbors Coalition (EFNC), and Eastwick United CDC (EU).
Awards
Medals are awarded to top run finishers based on chip time.

Before you register - please read
- Valid, TSA-approved government-issued photo ID is required. Every runner must present one at check-in to access the airfield. No ID, no entry - no exceptions.
- Results are based on chip time, not gun time.
- The event is rain or shine and non-refundable.
- There is NO race-day registration.
- Only registered runners are permitted on the race course.
- Spectators must remain in the parking/waiting area.
- The Kids Dash takes place outside the tarmac, in the festival zone.
- Shirt sizes are only guaranteed if you register by Tuesday, August 9 - after that, sizing is based on availability.

Course
Proper Identification
Everyone MUST present a valid government/state issued ID that matches your name and confirmation number on race day. Children over the age of 8 must have a photo ID – school ID is acceptable. Anyone under the age of 8, parents/guardians must show some form of ID such as a birth certificate or social security card. NO EXCEPTIONS!
Parking
Parking is free! There is parking across the street. Please follow the signage.

Spectators
All run participants will go through a security check prior to entering the run site – only participants will be allowed into the race course area. Arrive early as it does take time to clear security to the start line area.
Spectators are welcome but will not be allowed access to the secure area – such as the ramp, taxiways, runways or race course. Spectators will have to remain in the festival zone.
Pets and Strollers
Unfortunately, no pets or strollers will be allowed on the course. Authorized service dogs with credentials will be permitted.
