Celebrate community, health, and tradition with the Back of the Yards Neighborhood Council at our annual 5K Turkey Run/Walk!
Starting Point: Historic Union Stockyards Gate (41st Street & Halstead Ave)
Route: Through the Stockyard Industrial Park and surrounding neighborhood
Who: Fun for the whole family!
Race Packet Includes:
• Commemorative race t-shirt*
• Timed bib
• Medal
Shakeout Run will be on November 14th with Daily Routine Run Club and Trinity Squad Fitness. Time is TBD.
After crossing the finish line, enjoy post-race treats including coffee, champurrado, tamales, and pan dulce — the perfect way to warm up and celebrate with the community!

Transportation & Parking Information 🚶♀️
Ride sharing and carpooling are highly recommended for all race participants and spectators. Public transportation is also a great option!
Public Transit:
The #8 Halsted bus drops off at Exchange Ave & Halsted St, just one short block east of the race start/finish line — making it an easy and convenient choice.
Parking:
Street parking is available near the start/finish line. Please refer to the map below for suggested parking areas.
