The Alton Miles for Meso is a 5K race and 3K fun run/walk held in historic Alton, Illinois. This year's event will be held in person and virtually on Saturday, Sept. 19th. Everyone who registers will receive a custom participation medal in addition to a long-sleeve, moisture-wicking T-shirt (sizes not guaranteed after August 22nd), and race bag.
In person 5K runners are eligible for cash prizes and age group medals. See below for more information!
Virtual participants are asked to share pictures and join in our social conversations on Facebook and Twitter by using the hashtag #MilesForMeso.
Presented by Simmons Hanly Conroy and coordinated by the Metro Tri Club, all proceeds from the event will benefit the Asbestos Disease Awareness Organization. Since 2009, the race has raised more than $977,500 for mesothelioma cancer research and awareness.

Race Awards
Cash prizes to the top 5 overall women and men (gun time); $500 - 1st place, $250 - 2nd place, $200 - 3rd Place, $100 - 4th Place, $50 - 5th Place!
High school and college-level athletes are ineligible to receive cash prizes due to IMSA/MHSA and NCAA eligibility requirements. Alternative prizes will be given to student athletes in lieu of cash who place in the top five of the men’s and women’s categories.
Medals will be awarded to the top 3 in-person women and men in the following categories;
10 and under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70 and over
