My Story…
My connection to mesothelioma is deeply personal. In 1983, my grandfather, Donald "Mac" McKinley, lost his battle with this devastating disease. His passing left behind his wife, six children, and three grandchildren who loved him dearly.
What makes his loss even more profound is the life he never got the chance to see unfold. Nine more grandchildren would be born after his passing and would never have the opportunity to know him, hear his stories, or create memories with him. Although many of us never had the privilege of meeting him, his presence is still felt through the stories, values, and love he left behind.
I am raising funds in Mac's memory and in support of everyone affected by mesothelioma. This disease doesn't just take a life, it leaves an empty space in families for generations. My hope is that increased awareness, research, and support will help spare other families from experiencing the same heartbreak.
