Fitness NOW Turkey Trot

Before you sit down to your Thanksgiving feast, come out and get moving with us—and know that your sponsorship or race registration supports an incredible cause: Shop with a Cop.

This program raises money year-round to provide underprivileged children with a special Christmas shopping experience. More than 30 Jefferson County First Responder Agencies participate in the two-day event. Last year, over 550 kids received $150 each to shop at Walmart.

The program serves students in grades K–6 from all 11 school districts in Jefferson County. Organizers work directly with school counselors, who help select the children invited to participate. The kids are bussed to Walmart as if on a field trip, greeted by volunteers, treated to cookies and milk, and even get a visit with Santa! Each child receives a $150 gift card and pairs up with a first responder - Police, Fire, EMS, or Dispatch, to shop for anything they choose.

It’s a truly meaningful way to support and connect with our community! A portion of the race proceeds will be donated directly to this organization. Because of the generosity of our participants and sponsors, we were honored to donate $10,000 to their program in 2025 — and we are believing we can make an even greater impact in 2026!
