LOVE. SERVE. RUN. 5K
PARTICIPANT WAIVER, RELEASE OF LIABILITY & ASSUMPTION OF RISK
In consideration of participating in the Love. Serve. Run. 5K and related activities, I acknowledge and agree:
ASSUMPTION OF RISK
I understand that running/walking involve inherent risks, including falls, collisions, uneven surfaces, weather, heat, overexertion, and other conditions that may cause injury, illness, property damage, or death. I voluntarily participate and assume these risks.
HEALTH & MEDICAL TREATMENT
I certify that I am physically able to participate and accept responsibility for determining my fitness. I authorize reasonable emergency medical treatment if necessary and accept responsibility for resulting medical expenses.
RELEASE OF LIABILITY
To the fullest extent permitted by law, I release and hold harmless all parties related to Heart of the City and participating property owners from claims or liabilities arising from my participation, except where prohibited by law.
EVENT CONDITIONS
I agree to follow Event rules and instructions. I understand the Event may be modified, postponed, or canceled due to weather, safety concerns, emergencies, or circumstances beyond the organizers’ control. Refunds are subject to HOTC’s policies.
PERSONAL PROPERTY
I am responsible for my belongings and understand that HOTC is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged property to the extent permitted by law.
PHOTO & MEDIA RELEASE
I authorize HOTC to use photographs, video, and recordings of my participation for lawful promotional, fundraising, informational, and marketing purposes without compensation.
MINORS
For participants under 18, a parent or legal guardian must accept this waiver on the minor’s behalf and represents that they have authority to do so.
ACKNOWLEDGMENT
I have read and understand this waiver and understand that I am giving up certain legal rights. I voluntarily agree to its terms.
