The 44th Annual Andy's Road Race 5K/10K run and non-competitive Harvey Gleich Memorial 2-mile walk will be held Saturday, September 5 2026, at Memorial Park in Huron.

There is something for all fitness levels:

5K Road Race or 10K Road Race – begins at 8:00 a.m.
Harvey Gleich Memorial 2-Mile Walk – begins at 8:05 a.m.
¼-Mile Kids’ Fun Run – for elementary kids (no registration fee) – to follow events

All participants will receive a free State Fair gate pass again this year. Register soon to get the best pricing! You must register before August 28, 2026 to guarantee your t-shirt size. This race is a sanctioned SDHSAA event!

Cost:
- $40 until 9/4
- $50 on race day
- $30 walker only registration
- $5 High School Cross Country entry (email kimrieger12@gmail.com for registration form)

Limited Race Day registration will be available BEFORE 7:30 a.m.

We're so excited to see you on Saturday morning, whether you're planning to run in honor of Coach Andy Kleinsasser or memory of long-time volunteer Harvey Gleich. Even though the forecast is for warm weather, hopefully, the early morning will be a cooler start to the day!

Please read the information below carefully as we do have some changes this year:

Important Information

Packet pick-up is Friday, September 4, noon to 4 p.m. at HRMC Legacy Plaza. Enter from the north side of the building and turn right through the glass doors. To make your Saturday morning smoother, and ease congestion race morning, please make every effort to pick up Friday. Packets include your shirt, map, State Fair gate pass and several fun items donated by our sponsors.
NEW CHECK-IN LOCATION - due to the July 2 storm damage to the regular shelter check-in location, participants will check in near Memorial Park restrooms (south side).
Limited Saturday morning packet pick-up is 7:00-7:30 a.m. Race day registration will be available for $50 if you have friends who haven't decided to join you yet:-)

Schedule for 9/5/2026:

- 7:00 a.m. - Registration Opens
- 7:30 a.m. - Registration Closes
- 7:45 a.m. - Pre-race meeting
- 8:00 a.m. - 5K/10K road race start with Harvey Gleich Memorial 2-Mile Walk immediately to follow
- ¼ mile Kids’ Fun Run (see volunteers under shelter for waiver forms) will begin when events are complete

Breakfast burritos, donut holes, fruit, pickles, Gatorade, and water will be available when you are done with your event.

New this year, medals and cash prizes will be awarded to overall male and female winners in the 5K and 10K. Age group 1st-3rd place will receive medals. Stick around for great door prizes and to watch the kids’ fun run! Showers are available at the Memorial Park campground.
