Join Treaty One Nations for the inaugural Orange Shirt Day Treaty One Run & Walk on Sunday, September 27, 2026, beginning at the Assiniboia Residential School Monument at 621 Academy Road.
This 5 km Run & Walk will bring together Residential School Survivors, families, First Nations communities, youth, and members of the public to honour Survivors and remember the children who never returned home. The event will begin with an opening ceremony featuring prayer, an Honour Song, Survivor and Elder acknowledgements, and a historical reflection on the Assiniboia Residential School before participants head out on the route.
The course will loop from the former residential school site through the surrounding area before returning to Theodore Fontaine Park for a finish-line gathering with refreshments, community partners, and cultural and educational displays.
Check-in is at 10:00 AM, with the Run & Walk beginning at 11:00 AM.
Participants of all ages and abilities are welcome.
