Does Hike Your Hood count towards the Heroes Club?
Hike Your Hood does not count towards your miles collected at our live events but it does count towards the number of registered events (remember: Every 10th MammothMarch you sign up is on us!). Check out more details about our Heroes Club right here.
How do I track my Hike Your Hood hikes?
You can use either tracking app available (e.g. Garmin, komoot, AllTrails & many more) and we will send instructions of how to upload your progress/results as we get closer to the New Year.
Is Hike Your Hood a step challenge?
No, Hike Your Hood is not a challenge where you simply track your steps. You should plan and go out for actual hikes, no matter the distance.
Do I have to walk the whole distance at a stretch?
No. During our Hike Your Hood edition you just need to rack up at least 20 miles between December 31, 2026 - January 31, 2027. You can get a feeling for our live events by hiking/walking either 20 miles in 8 hours or 30 miles in 12 hours but you can split it up in however many smaller hikes throughout multiple days/weeks.
What’s the difference if I choose to hike 20+, 30+ or 60+ miles?
In a nutshell: That doesn't make a difference for us. However, we want you to get familiar with our live events where participants finish either 20 miles in 8 hours or 30 miles in 12 hours. Given the duration of our Hike Your Hood challenge, we just added another option (hiking 60+ miles throughout January). It's more a personal goal you want to achieve than competing against other MammothMarchers.
