3rd Annual Santa's Resolution Fun Run/Walk

This event is a runner/walker social event with no focus on racing! Its all about jump starting your new year’s resolution of staying fit and keeping connected with friends and encouraging each other to stay active over the winter months, while having fun on the run!

Event choices: 1 hour, 2 hour or 3 hours

Distance: As far as you want to run or walk in 1 hour, 2 hour or 3 hour time frame.

When: Saturday Dec 12, 2026

Course: Asphalt and road with 19 meters gain/loss per 5 km loop.

Aid station: Two dispensing bottles, one with water and one with mixed blue Gatorade. This is a cupless event. Please bring a carry bottle when filling your water or Gatorade or leave your cup at the s/f.

First Aid Kit: Located at the s/f.

Start times:

Reception: The reception will start at 12 noon and end at 12:45 pm. If you need to cut short, to get back in time for the reception, there is an opportunity to turn left at the 2km mark (Saxon St) and proceed to Charles McDonald Concrete House (Turn Right) and continue 800 meters back to the s/f. This would give you 3km instead of the 5km loop.

Start location: Centreville Baptist Church, 870 Murray Dr Centreville, NS, BOP 1J0

Cost: $28.00 plus Race Roster processing fee of $5.46

Limited field: Limited to the first 35 entries. Due to this being a road training run/walk, there will be an age limit of 14.

Name tags: Upon arrival prior to the start of the event, all registered participants will receive a name tag. This name tag allows you access to the venue.

Route (5km loop):

• Meet at the Centreville Baptist Church. We will walk approximately 150 meters to the start on Hwy #359, as a group.
• Head South on Hwy #359, using the asphalt path.
• When you reach Saxon st, stop for any turning traffic. Then continue straight ahead 300 meters to Lauren Dr.
• Turn left at Lauren Dr and continue through the Madison sub-division til you get back to Saxon St.
• Turn right at Saxon St. and continue to Sherman Belcher Rd.
• Turn left at Sherman Belcher Rd and continue to Hwy #359
• Turn left at Hwy #359 and continue approx. 250 meters to the start/finish area.

The course will be well marked with directional signs. Please ensure to check for traffic when crossing over any streets. Runners and walkers must always face traffic and treat this social event as a training run/walk and not a timed race. You are expected to keep track of your own finishing time and distance achieved. This is not a competitive event.

Reception: A reception will follow at the Centreville Baptist Church, in the main reception area, with pizza delivery from Dominos. There will also be a variety of coffee pods, water bottles, pop and variety of cheesecakes for dessert.

Special Guest: Santa will be making a guest appearance at noon and handing out a little something to all the Naughty or Nice. He also plans to ask you to share one of your New Year's resolutions as we head into 2027!

Christmas themed gifts: All participants will get to choose, their gift of choice, from the selection available on our gift table. Santa will select his top 3 festively dressed participants to start the gift selections and then he will continue to draw names from the remaining participants to pick their item, til everyone receives a gift. Your festive dressed items could be a Santa hat, bells around your neck, or dressing in a festive costume, etc, you choose!

Washrooms: Centreville Baptist Church has full washrooms available for your convenience and the facility will be open from 8:45 am - 1 pm.

Parking: There is plenty of parking available at Centreville Baptist Church.

Event Cancelation: Should the event need to be cancelled for ANY reason we will notify all registered participants via race roster email prior to the day of the event. Please ensure to check, your SPAM folder as we have realized that sometimes Race Roster emails end up in your SPAM folder. We don’t want you to miss any event updates.

All registrations are non/refundable; however, all registered participants will get a 100% deferral to our planned St Patrick's Day fun run/walk, that will take place at the same location, on Saturday March 14,2027.
