Run Calgary Ale Trail x Book Launch

You're Invited to the Run Calgary Ale Trail x Never Look Back Book Launch!

Thursday, November 26 @ 6 pm

Join Run Calgary and Local Author, Ed Bickley, for some Ale Trail fun! On Thursday, November 26th we will be meeting at Cabin Brewing Company and heading out for a fun run or walk before enjoying a book excerpt reading from Ed Bickley's new release, Never Look Back: You're Not Going That Way.

Ed Bickley

Ed Bickley is a long time member of the Calgary running community and was inducted into the Run Calgary Hall of Fame in 2014. Run Calgary has retired Ed's bib number, #501, in celebration of his many years of participation in the Calgary Marathon races.

Never Look Back

Never Look Back: You're Not Going That Way is a memoir of Ed’s decades of experiences with running and semi-competitive racing. It describes how and why he began running, the multiple things that have kept him doing so for more than 35 years, and personal stories he’s accumulated along the road. It’s held together by accounts of the many races he competed in during the year 2024 but diverges into several philosophical writings about life and modern sports science, the history of the sport, and the races which held the most personal significance for him. This all merges together to form the personal story of the many friends made (and in some cases, lost) during a life of running.
