U24 Safety to Sorrento 2027

Thank you for offering to support the U24 Safety to Sorrento.

Volunteering not only helps the event organisers create a well-run, enjoyable event for everyone involved, it also gives family, friends, and anyone else interested in the event, “first-hand” insights into how the event works and its scope.

U24 Safety to Sorrento is a 24k, 12km, or 4x6km open water swim taking place on Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula starting at Safety Beach, progressing via Capel Sound and finishing on the Sorrento foreshore. The Event is held every year in February. The event organiser is Neverland Enterprises Pty Ltd trading as SwimWell (Event Organiser).

Volunteer tasks include:

• Registration desks
• start lines
• Catering distribution
• Event observation
• Finish line welcoming party

Volunteers will be supplied with

• a pink high-visibility vest to wear on the day of the event day
• refreshments
• and event merchadise

The organisation will support volunteers with orientation to their role, be contactable on the event day through proper communication channels and supply of any specialised equipment necessary for the role.

Volunteers are responsible for their own transport on the event day, as well as any overnight accommodation they may choose to book. The event is unable to reimburse personal costs incurred as a volunteer.

Volunteers are asked to abide by the conditions of the Event and the agreed directives of Event officials, including ensuring that all participants conduct themselves in a safe, friendly and inclusive manner. Any inappropriate conduct or actions are unacceptable, and those involved will be asked to leave. Such decisions are at the discretion of event officials and are not subject to appeal.

For safety reasons, all participants (registered and volunteer) must have reached a minimum age of 18 years on the date on the event.

We are looking for volunteers on the event day - 13th Feb 2027.

There will be an online briefing for volunteers to orientate you to your roles and the event. Your attendance is much appreciated.
