Who is this event for?
The Backyard Tours Gruppetto is designed for cyclists who love great riding, good company, and exploring Victoria's High Country. Whether you're an experienced rider or simply enjoy a challenge at your own pace, you'll feel right at home.
What is included in my entry?
Your entry includes fully supported rides, event lunches provided by Beechworth Bakery, organised dinners, ride nutrition and support, event merchandise, and accommodation (depending on your ticket category).
What is not included?
Breakfasts are not included. However, the Colonial Motel rooms include facilities such as a fridge, microwave, kettle, and toaster, making it easy to prepare your own breakfast. Bright also has plenty of excellent cafés within walking distance.
What rides will we be doing?
The event features some of the High Country's most iconic cycling routes, including Falls Creek, Mount Buffalo, and scenic loops through Wandiligong and Germantown. Full route details will be provided before the event.
Are the rides supported?
Yes. Riders will have support throughout the event, including designated regroup points, ride leaders, and assistance where required.
What accommodation is included?
Accommodation depends on the ticket purchased:
- Premium King Ticket: Deluxe King Suite with private ensuite bathroom.
- Premium Queen Ticket: Queen bed in a private or shared room with shared bathroom facilities.
- Premium Single Ticket: Shared accommodation with shared bathroom facilities.
Do I need to carry my own nutrition?
We recommend carrying your preferred ride nutrition, but support stops and event lunches will be provided throughout the weekend.
What dinners are included?
We've arranged group dinners at Bright Brewery and the Alpine Hotel, giving riders the chance to relax, refuel, and share stories from the day's adventures.
What happens if the weather is bad?
The event will proceed in most weather conditions. In the event of severe weather that affects rider safety, routes may be modified at the discretion of the organisers.
Can my partner or non-riding friend attend?
Absolutely. Bright offers fantastic cafés, wineries, walking trails, and local attractions, making it a great destination for non-riders as well.
How fit do I need to be?
You should be comfortable riding multiple consecutive days and tackling significant climbing. This is not a race, but riders should arrive with a reasonable level of cycling fitness to fully enjoy the experience.
