The K100 starts early in Longview, Alberta, about an hour southwest of Calgary. Plan to arrive with your team before sunrise for race-morning coffee and Sweet Rice donuts, bib pickup, and final relay logistics before your first runner heads out onto Highwood Pass.
From there, the race (and your support crew) follows the route northwest along the Highwood Pass corridor, through some of the most spectacular alpine scenery in the Rockies, finishing at the Pomeroy Kananaskis Mountain Lodge. Teams typically stage their support vehicles at each exchange zone along the way, so plan your driving order in advance and build in extra time for mountain road conditions. Each team is entitled to two vehicle passes for the race, and each vehicle must have a Kananaskis Conservation Pass.
Why Stay at the Pomeroy
The Pomeroy Kananaskis Mountain Lodge is a world-class resort in the heart of the Canadian Rockies, and it's the perfect basecamp for your K100 weekend — both before and after the race. Before the race: Arrive a day early to shake out the travel, get your team settled, and rest up in the mountains rather than rushing out from Calgary race morning. Guest rooms and suites offer a lodge-like atmosphere with plush beds, so your team can log a proper night's sleep before tackling 100 miles.
After the race: This is where the Pomeroy really earns its place as race headquarters. Once you've crossed the finish line, the indoor water park with spray features and three water slides and the Kananaskis Nordic Spa, just steps from the lodge, with outdoor hydrotherapy pools, saunas and steam rooms, are exactly what tired legs need. The property also features a fitness center, indoor pool, outdoor pool, and hot tub for teams who want to stretch it out before heading home. Check back here in Spring 2027 for preferred rates at the Kananaskis Nordic Spa.
For teams looking to make a full weekend of it, the Black Diamond Club offers a hotel-within-a-hotel concept with private concierge service and enhanced room amenities, plus full access to everything the main Lodge offers. This is a great option for team captains looking to treat their crew to something extra special.
Both the Pomeroy Lodge and The Black Diamond Club are offering K100 runners and volunteers preferred rates for pre- and post-race stays. Book before May 17, 2027 to make use of this generous offer. Rooms starting at $398/night. Book Here
