Central Queensland’s first hospice
Fitzroy Community Hospice provides care at no charge in a peaceful, purpose-built and home-like environment. Its team helps people live as fully and comfortably as possible while also supporting their loved ones.
The service is available to adults with an advanced life-limiting condition—not only people with cancer—and takes a holistic approach to physical, cultural, emotional and spiritual care.
What community support helps provide
Specialist care, 24 hours a day
Palliative care nurses and specialised staff provide round-the-clock care in a 12-bed facility.
A welcoming place for loved ones
Families are welcomed and encouraged to stay, with large patient rooms, quiet spaces, lounges and gardens.
Support beyond clinical care
Patients, families and carers can receive social, emotional, pastoral, cultural, grief and bereavement support.

The cause behind the Family Run
The JRT 1.6km Family Run brings children, families, walkers and supporters together at Yeppoon Lagoon on Saturday 24 July 2027. Family Run entry support goes to Fitzroy Community Hospice.
