Volunteer Details
Package Pick Up (8:00am - 8:45am):
You will assist staff with handing out swim caps, race nags and pre-bought merchandise.
You will help answer any questions and calm nervous swimmers. When you arrive please proceed downstairs in the Mahogany Beach Club to the Marine room where package pick up will be held.
Access Gate Volunteer (8:00am - 9:15am):
You will be monitoring the gate and allowing in only those there for the swim (volunteers, staff, etc)
Water Safety (Kayak/Board) (9:00am – 11:15am):
On the morning of the event at the water safety briefing, you will be assigned a number that corresponds to a location on the water. This is the are you will be monitoring swimmer safety. Along with your kayak/SUP you must be wearing a lifejacket (no lifejacket = no water). If you have an extra lifejacket or safety throw line, please bring that as well. When you arrive, please arrive and proceed to the gate with the access to the water. This gate is located to the left if you are facing the building. You will not go through the building. Please have SUP/kayak ready to go prior to taking it down to the water.
We will meet on the beach at 9:20am.
*if you have signed up for "do not have your own kayak/SUP" please arrive at 9am to collect your kayak so you ae ready to go at our 9:20am meeting.
Certified Lifeguards (9:00am – 11:15am):
On the morning of the event at the water safety briefing, you will be assigned a location near the water. This is the are you will be monitoring swimmer safety. You must bring your whistle and will oversee the area. Any issues you will blow your whistle to notify the kayakers of an issue.
Beach Marshal (10:00am – 11:30am)
You will be ensuring swimmers come out of the water in the proper location and reminding them to run to the finish line as their time does not stop until they cross the finish line. When you arrive, please arrive and proceed to the gate with the access to the water. This gate is located to the left if you are facing the building. You will not go through the building. Come to the finish line arch.
Timing Chip Collection (10:00am – 11:30am)
You will be collecting timing chips from the swimmers as they cross the finish line. You are the first people they see after their big swim. You get a front row to the big smiles! When you arrive, please arrive and proceed to the gate with the access to the water. This gate is located to the left if you are facing the building. You will not go through the building. Come to the finish line arch.
Medal Hand Out (10:00am – 11:30am)
You will be given a list of people who have pre-purchased a medal.

Take Down (11:45am – 12:15am):
Helping staff carry things back up to the truck in the parking lot. It really helps!!!!!!!!
