Run Where No One Has Run Before (Literally) a climate-controlled maze where running is as welcomed as singing karaoke in a library. But for one glorious day, the iconic Minneapolis Skyway System will transform into one of the most unique race courses in the world.
Wind through 30+ buildings, above city streets, and experience the skyways from an entirely new perspective - all without worrying about weather, traffic, or potholes. With twists, turns, and unforgettable views around every corner, this isn't your average 5K.
Whether you're a seasoned runner or just looking to cross "Run through the Minneapolis Skyway" off your bucket list, the Skyway 5K is an experience unlike any other.
Registration is limited. Secure your spot to be one of the first to run the Skyway 5K: Minneapolis!
Target Field and the section of Skyway connected to Ramp A are the Start & Finish locations for the race.

Skyway 1K - YMCA Kids Fun Run
Let the little runners join the Skyway 5K fun! This FREE 1-Kilometer Fun Run is designed for kids 10 and under. They'll receive a race bib & swag bag that is unique to the fun run. Kids will start at the same location as the Skyway 5K at Target Field/Ramp A, shortly after all 5K runners have crossed the starting line. Announcements & YMCA volunteers will help guide the little fun-runners to the start line and along the entire route. The 1K fun run is a straight-line route through the Skyway System to the Dayton at Gaviidae YMCA, where they will circle around the beautiful atrium in Gaviidae Common and head back to the start/finish line. It's a fun way for kids to experience a few buildings & sky-bridges within the Minneapolis Skyway System and be part of this one-of-a-kind event!
