2027 Snowball Series

The Snowball Series is back for its 47th year in 2027, and we will once again have 5 great races as part of our series. We will start 2027 off with our Forest Park 5K, and cap the series off with a USATF Certified 1 Mile race at beautiful Lafayette Square!

Join us for the full series while we tour areas of our beautiful city. Can't make it for all the races in the series? Sign up for any of the races individually for just $15. The series is designed to encourage you through the coldest months of the year while promoting health, fitness, and fun for people of all ages and abilities. So dress warm, bring some friends, and join our winter running family.

Full series participants receive a custom Snowball Series swag and a one of kind finisher medal featuring landmarks of all 5 race locations! If you can't make all 5 races in-person, series participants can submit times virtually for weeks they miss and still receive their series medal. *Virtual times cannot earn points for series placement, however.

We will once again have the option to purchase hot drinks from Travelin' Tom's Coffee at all five of our races! They offer the perfect way to warm up after a winter run.

Can't make it to the in-person events but want to be a part of the series and stay motivated? Sign up for the series as a virtual runner and receive the same swag and finisher medals as series participants, and complete the distance on your own!

Packet Pickup & Shipping Information

Bib and Swag Pickup| Participants can pick up their series race bib and swag at the times listed below. Participants will use the same bib for the full series. Individual race entrants get a new bib at each race.

In-Person Participants:
- Series Packet Pick-up:
  - Wendesday, Dec. 30 | Running Niche (1601 Tower Grove Ave)| 10am-5pm
  - Race Morning (all race dates) | 1 hour prior to start time of each race
  - Series participants use the same bib for all four races
- Single Race Registrations:
  - Wednesday, Dec. 30 | Running Niche (1601 Tower Grove Ave)| 10am-5pm
  - Race Morning (all race dates) | 1 hour prior to start time of each race
  - *Non-series registrants who run more than one race will need a new bib for each race.

Virtual Swag Pickup and Shipping Options | Virtual participants can choose to have their swag mailed for ($10) or pick up during packet pickup on December 30th. If you opt for pickup, swag will be available at the following times:

Swag Pick-up:
- Tuesday, Dec. 30 | Running Niche (1601 Tower Grove Ave)| 10am-5pm
Packet Mailing:
- If you choose to have your packet mailed during registration, packets will begin mailing out Jan. 4. Packets will include your swag and medal.

Single Race Swag - Individual race participants will receive a custom race bib and a finisher's medal for the race they partake in. You can purchase a hoodie or BOCO Converter Gloves during registration as well.

We are switching things up this year, and going with a single series medal for all series participants. This large, unique medal design will feature landmarks from all 5 race locations, and will really stand out on your medal hanger! Images coming soon.

What to do if you can't make one of the race dates

If you miss a race during the series, you can complete the distance on your own. Submitting times is optional, and not required to get your series medal, but If you'd like to submit your virtual time, you can do so on the results page (coming soon). *Note that virtual times do not count towards series standings.

Race Results

In Person Racers - All in-person participants will receive their results via email and text message shortly after crossing the finish line.

Virtual - Virtual participants can submit their times the week of each race. Instructions on how to record and submit your times will be emailed to all virtual participants each race week.

Awards

Series Scoring|Series participants will earn points based on their age group placement at each race. The top finishers of each age group at the end of the series will receive a custom Snowball Series award item. To earn series points and be eligible for the series standings, you must be registered for the entire series. Individual race participants do not earn series awards points. Each series participant’s 4 best scores will determine their final standing. Age groups are 15 & Under, 16-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-79 and 80+. The age of all participants on 1/1/2025 will determine their age group. Points will be awarded based on age group placement: 1st – 50 points, 2nd – 45 points, 3rd – 40 points, 4th – 35 points, 5th – 30 points, 6th – 25 points, 7th – 20 points, 8th – 15 points, 9th – 10 points. All remaining finishers receive 5 points.

AWARDS

Series Awards (In-Person) | Top three males/females in the following age groups: 15 & Under, 16-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-79, and 80+. To be eligible for series awards, entrants must be registered for the series. The best 4 will count towards individual series awards.

Can I switch from the physical series to the virtual series? Yes. Please contact jake@s2fevents.com to transfer. If you only need to do some of the races virtually, you do not need to do anything to change your registration. Submitting times is not required to get your medal, but you can do so.

Inclement Weather Policy: The safety of our participants and volunteers is our highest priority. Races will be held rain, snow, or shine and will not be canceled except for cases of severe weather or unsafe road/course conditions. If a race is cancelled or postponed, we will notify participants via both email and text alerts and will post an update at the top of this page by 7:00 am the morning of the event at the latest. Less threatening conditions may cause alterations of the course or race day activities to ensure participant, volunteer, and community safety. No refunds or credits will be given in case of cancellation due to weather.

Swag Policy & Exchange: We will not be able to exchange any swag that has been handed out and taken home. Swag must be picked up by the conclusion of the last race. We will no longer guarantee it after this date.

Are dogs allowed at the event or allowed to participate? We love dogs, but dogs are not allowed at this event or allowed to participate in the race.

Strollers are welcomed, we just ask that you start towards the back of the field and be courteous to other participants.

Will there be on course support? Yes, we will have course marshals and traffic control on the course. EMS trained staff will be available at the finish line.

Will there be on course Aid Stations? No, there will not be on-course aid stations. We highly encourage and recommend participants carry all hydration needs.
