Gather your friends, family, coworkers, or fellow first responders and take on the Edmonton First Responders Half Marathon or 10K Team Competition!

Team Registration & Rules

  • Team Size: Each team must consist of exactly 4 runners.

  • Team Name: Every team must register under a unique team name.

  • Distances: Team competitions are available in both the Half Marathon (21.1K) and 10K distances.

  • This is NOT a relay! All four team members complete the full distance individually. There is no passing of batons or splitting of the course.

  • Same Distance: All four team members must be registered for and complete the same race distance.

  • Team Scoring: The team's official result is calculated using the average finishing time of all four runners.

  • Individual Results: Every team member also receives an official individual finishing time and is included in the individual race results.

Incomplete Teams

All four registered team members must start and successfully finish their designated race distance to qualify for an official team result.

If any team member is unable to start, withdraws, or fails to complete the course:

  • The team will not receive an official team finishing time or ranking.

  • Remaining runners who complete the race will still receive their individual finishing times and results.

Four runners. One team. One shared goal.

Whether you're running for friendly competition, workplace bragging rights, or simply the camaraderie, the team competition is a great way to experience race day together!



  • Organizers reserve the right to refuse, cancel, or revoke registrations when necessary to enforce event rules, protect participant safety, or maintain event integrity.

  • Unauthorized bib sales or transfers are strictly prohibited. Any permitted transfers must be completed through the official Race Roster transfer system, within the applicable deadlines and conditions.

  • All entries are non-refundable and non-deferrable. Transfers are permitted only where expressly authorized by the organizers.

  • Participants unable to attend due to injury, illness, scheduling conflicts, or personal circumstances are not eligible for refunds or deferrals.

  • Optional registration protection may be available through Race Roster at checkout. Coverage, eligibility, and claims are subject to the protection provider's terms and conditions.

Force Majeure & Event Cancellation Policy

The safety of our participants, volunteers, staff, and community is our highest priority.

Circumstances beyond the organizers' reasonable control may require modifications to the 2027 Edmonton First Responders Half Marathon. These circumstances include, but are not limited to:

  • Wildfire smoke or hazardous air quality

  • Severe or extreme weather

  • Natural disasters and other emergencies

  • Public health orders or government restrictions

  • Road closures, infrastructure disruptions, or other conditions affecting event safety

Event Modifications

If the event must be shortened, delayed, rerouted, interrupted, or temporarily suspended after any portion of the event has commenced, the event may be deemed completed.

In these circumstances, no refunds, deferrals, or registration credits will be issued.

Full Event Cancellation

If the event is fully cancelled before racing begins due to an Air Quality Health Index (AQHI) of 7 or higher, government restrictions, or other circumstances beyond the organizers' reasonable control, organizers may, at their sole discretion, offer one of the following:

  • Complimentary entry into the 2027 Virtual Event, if offered; or

  • A registration credit of up to 30% of the eligible entry fee toward the 2028 Edmonton First Responders Half Marathon.

These options are discretionary and are not guaranteed.

Charitable donations, processing fees, taxes where applicable, and optional purchases or upgrades are excluded from registration credit calculations and are non-refundable to the extent permitted by law.

Organizers will follow applicable City of Edmonton requirements, public health directives, and event safety protocols. Any significant changes will be communicated through official event channels.

Participant Agreement

By registering for the Edmonton First Responders Half Marathon, participants acknowledge and agree that:

  • They have reviewed and accepted the event's rules, policies, and registration conditions.

  • Participation in an outdoor endurance event involves inherent risks, including weather, environmental conditions, physical exertion, and interactions with other participants and the public.

  • They are responsible for ensuring they are adequately prepared and medically fit to participate.

  • They agree to follow instructions provided by event officials, volunteers, and emergency personnel.

Registration constitutes acceptance of these policies, subject to applicable laws and the terms of any additional waiver or participant agreement completed during registration.
