The Foothills Speed Skating Marathon Association produces a winter festival around the Sylvan Lake Ice Marathon; 5k, 10k, 25k, 50k, 100k speed skating races on a prepared track of 5km. For novice to master levels. Fun for everyone!

Marathon Speed Skating at Sylvan Lake

Sylvan Lake Marathon includes more than the on-line registration for the distances stated. It's a family fun event where everybody can join a whole lot or just a part of it.

This year also:

* Besides the usual 5 km. track, a shorter loop of 2.5 km. and a 200 metre straight race track.

* A tour (any amount you decide) for the whole family. Just start between 10 am and 3 pm and skate as many laps of 2.5 km. as you want. On-line or At site registration.

* Kortebaan races; A 160 metre head to head sprint will be held around 12 and 2:30 pm - At site registration.

* Prikslee races; A unique sled race to be held around 1 and 3 pm. - At Site registration.

Our Races are also part of an Alberta Speed Skating Week that we share with our friends from Edmonton and the SilverSkate Festival.
