Saturday Morning at the Races and the YAF Winter Challenge
provide the chance for kids to remain active despite the colder weather!
Both programs are offered for children 14 & under

Saturday Morning at the Races
Saturday Morning at the Races offer kids the chance to speed around the indoor tracks at the College of St. Scholastica (CSS), University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD), and University of Wisconsin-Superior (UWS). Not only that, but participants will receive a T-shirt and snacks and have a chance to meet their favorite mascot!
The races will start at 10:00 a.m. on each of the dates listed below.
NOTE: Participants and their family members are required to wear a mask or face covering while inside our indoor venues. Full COVID-19 protocol can be found here.

All sites are wheelchair and adaptive participant accessible. Please see a race official when you arrive.

4 Years Old & Under – 1/8 mile
5 & 6 Years Old – 1/8 mile
7 & 8 Years Old – 1/4 mile
9 & 10 Years Old – 1/4 mile
11-14 Years Old – 1/2 Mile
YAF Winter Challenge
When you register for the Winter Challenge, you'll receive your activity card booklet to get a jump start on staying healthy and active at home this winter. Download and print your activity cards (click on graphic below). If you complete all 20 activities by February 14th, you will be able to earn a 6” Free Pizza & $5 Arcade Card from Skyline Social & Games!
Track Your Mileage in January and February with our Virtual Mileage Tracker!
For kids excited to track the miles they run, walk, hike, etc. during the YAF Winter Challenge we’re offering a free Virtual Mileage Log using Race Roster. Work your way to completing a virtual marathon by submitting your miles each day throughout January and February. Then see your progress on the interactive map featured on your personal Virtual Mileage Log dashboard!
After you register for the YAF Winter Challenge, follow the below steps to log your miles:
1. Click Here to visit the Virtual Mileage Log page.
4. Once you've submitted your activity you'll automatically be taken to your Mileage Log dashboard where you can see the distance you've gone and the distance you have remaining to complete the virtual marathon along with a map that shows your progress along the virtual Grandma's Marathon race course.
