Canaqua Sports is once again excited to present 3 events at the iconic Welland Recreational Canal.

WHAT'S NEW FOR 2026

The Welland Recreational Canal is the jewel of our Ontario program. With three events in two different locations, each race offers a unique selection of races, including select distances and events.


For 2026, we have made the following changes to our program of events.

1. NEW DATE - Welland Open Water Swim and SwimRun Challenge is not one week later, and this year will take place on June 14. We are anticipating that the water will be that slight bit warmer and more comfortable for our swimmers

2. NEW LOCATION, NEW RACES - CANAQUA SPORTS MIDSUMMER Classic.

Yes, we have moved our Midsummer Classic to the Welland Community Boathouse/Northern Reach, the same location as our June event.

Open Water Swim distances include 2k, 4k, and 10k swims, and we are hosting a 15k swimrun, along with a SwimRun Relay, where one person completes the running course, and one person swims. Something unique for our Midsummer Classic

3. Welland Canal Open Water Swim - for this year's event, in addition to our standard distances of 1K, 2.5K, and 10K, we are including a 15K Ultraswim, giving participants a full range of distances to choose from.

NEW DATE - Yes, we have changed the date. This year's event will be on August 30, 2026.
