This event features a 5km Try-a-Trail race, a 7.5km "Trail Blazer" race, plus a 15km Challenge race for those who want to test themselves. The trails are all dirt and grass, with some single track and some double track.
The 5k is flat - all of it being at the top of the Qu'Appelle valley. The trail is wide and mostly grass. This is a good race for those looking for an introduction to trail running, or if you just want to enjoy a casual run or walk.
The 7.5k course is very hilly, and much of it through treed sections. Runners on this route will encounter many obstacles, including: fallen trees, low branches, steep inclines, sharp drops, and uneven footing. Gloves and eye protection are highly recommended.
The 15k Challenge race is two loops of the 7.5k course.
Proceeds from the race will be donated to the All Nations Healing Hospital in Fort Qu'Appelle.
For those who participated in the race last year, please note that the Start/Finish area is at a different section of the park. This year we will start at a group campground at the top of the valley (Little McLean 1). This fenced-in area is an awesome area for viewing the start and finish, is great for socializing, and also enables camping the night before the race. Campground area has electricity. Tents and/or trailers can be set up right at the Race HQ after 3:00 PM the day before the race (free to volunteers). If you plan to camp, please sign up when you register as racer or volunteer.
Members of the Regina Road Runners will get a $10 savings off the registration fee by entering a special promo code. Promo code will be distributed to members by the Road Runners (Note: Members discount is available only until July 31 at which time early bird pricing is eliminated.)
Medals will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place Male and Female runners in each of the three events.

Additional Details
-
Start/Finish is at the upper group campground area, "Little Mclean 1" at Echo Valley Provincial Park. Campground is at the top of the valley on the west side of Hwy #210. Enter through the main gates, and follow the road to the left. Signs will be posted to direct you to Race HQ.
-
If anyone wants to camp the night before the race, space is available for tents and trailers. Campground area is a fenced compound and electricity is available. Tenting is available for free to racers and volunteers. A limited number of trailer spots are available for $25.

Improved courses - The 5km will entirely be at the top of the valley so no hills. This should be much more attractive to trail newbies. The 7.5km course will have lots of hills but will be set up so that it never "doubles back" or crosses itself. This was the problem last year that got some people dazed and confused (i.e., lost). I've also cut a bit more trail so there will be a bit more single track trail running. The 15km is 2 loops of the 7.5k course.
-
More volunteers on the course to direct runners including more bike riders to sweep the course.
-
Better route markings.
Some things that will be the same as last year:
-
Track and Trail is sponsoring again this year to provide door prizes
-
Food will be supplied by the same BBQ vendor as last year.
