The Highlands Ranch Mountain Bike Series sponsored by BikeSource - Highlands Ranch will take place in our beautiful and pristine Backcountry Wilderness Area in August this year. With the addition of a 4th race, the Series will begin on Wednesday, August 5 and consist of four, Wednesday evening races starting at 6:00pm throughout the month of August with the final race being held on Wednesday, August 26.
Mountain bike racers of all abilities are welcome! There are four categories - A (expert), B (intermediate), C (Novice) and Junior (high school ages 14+). Points will be collected throughout the Series to crown an overall Series Champion in each male / female category at the conclusion of the Series.
Racers will have to race in 3 / 4 races in order to be eligible for series ranking and the Overall Series Champion award. We will take your top 3 finishes to calculate your final ranking score.
This is a fun, laid back event for those of you who love racing and want to prepare for your weekend races or fall cyclocross season. It's also a great way to try a mountain bike race in a friendly environment!
After each Wednesday night race, Grist Brewing Company will be handing out free beers to all over 21 year old participants. We will also have a dinner available for purchase from a different food truck each week.
CASH prizes will be awarded to the "King or Queen of Highlands Point" at the kick-off race to the series on August 5. There will be CASH prizes awarded to the Overall M/F HR MTB Series Champions. Gift certificates to BikeSource will be awarded to the 2-5 place finishers in the series in each category. Random place finisher prizes will be awarded at each of the four races from BikeSource vendors! See below for more details on awards.
