Your favourite holiday run - the Santa Pur-suit!

Run a 5k or 3k race, or a 1k fun run, while dressed like Santa! The suit is yours to keep. This race supports the YMCAs of Waterloo Region.

All participants will receive a full Santa Suit which consists of a jacket, pants, hat, beard and belt, and the entire Santa Suit must be worn during the event. In the spirit of the event, any participant not wearing the full Santa Suit will be removed from further participation without refund.

Please remember to keep your Santa Suit for the following years, to receive an entry fee discount.

Santa Suit Information

The signature feature of this event is the hundreds of Santas running down the street. This means that the suit is mandatory!

Participants will receive a full Santa Suit with the entry fee. The suit consists of a jacket, pants, hat, beard and belt, and the entire Santa Suit must be worn during the event. In the spirit of the event, any participant not wearing the full Santa Suit will be removed from further participation without refund.

The Santa Suits come in three sizes, Mens, Womens, and Youth. They are on the large size, so many people choose a smaller size.

We recommend picking up your kit and suit at the Friday kit pickup so that you can tailor your suit before the race!

Registration Options

REGISTRATION POLICY: All entries are non-refundable, non-transferable, and non-deferrable. There are no exceptions once a person has registered.

Mail in: To 2 Weberlyn Crescent, Conestogo N0B 1N0 by Tuesday December 6 at 5:00 p.m.
Drop off: At Runners’ Choice, 55 Erb St E, Waterloo by Tuesday December 6 at 5:00 p.m.

After these dates, entries will only be accepted at Kit & Chip Pickup. All entry fees increase by $5 after pre-registration.

Course Details & Information

The 5 KM and 3 KM events are timed races, and the 1 KM event is not a timed race.
The 5 KM and 3 KM courses are certified distances.
There will be water stations on the 5 KM course.
Each KM will be marked.
Courses are subject to change pending approvals and course certifications.

Starting at the Stork Family YMCA, turn right onto Bearinger Rd.
Turn right onto Westmount Rd. N. Turn right onto Columbia St. W.
Turn right onto Fischer-Hallman Rd. N. and finish at the Stork Family YMCA.

Time Limit:

The time limit to complete the course is calculated at 10 minutes per kilometer. Starting at the half way mark, if a participant does not reach a km mark by this calculated time, the participant will be asked to move to the sidewalk and finish the race as a pedestrian, unassisted by race support. Participants are asked to familiarize themselves with the course route if this situation might be a possibility to them. We wish to minimize traffic disruption caused by our event, and value the support of Police services regarding participant safety, and trust you understand our position.

Directions to the Stork Family YMCA:
From Hwy 401 take exit 278 (from Toronto) or exit 278B (from London) to Hwy 8 West Kitchener.
Exit at Hwy 85 Waterloo.
Exit at University Ave. West (second University Ave. exit).
Turn right at Weber Street North.
Turn left at Columbia Street West.
Turn right at Fischer-Hallman Road North.
Turn right into YMCA parking lot at Laurelwood Dr.

NEW FOR 2016

We appreciate everyone's busy schedule, and thank you for making the time to participate in our event. In order to help you get on with your busy day more quickly, as soon as the final results are calculated, participants can pick up their age/weight class/team category medals. No more waiting through a long awards ceremony. Of course, all unclaimed medals will still be available for pickup at Runners' Choice any time after Monday December 19, 2016.

5 KM & 3 KM EVENTS - medals to:

Top 3 overall Male and Female, Open & Masters (age 40 plus)
Top 3 Male and Female finishers in each age and weight category, and
1st place team in each Team Category.
$100 in prize money will be awarded to the top Open team in any timed event in which there are at least 5 eligible teams in the official results.
