Our story…

Our Story… On December 6, 1969, twenty-six visionary women embarked upon a new and challenging path when they established The Federal City Alumnae Chapter (theFCAC) of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Throughout the past 49 years, theFCAC members have unselfishly given of their time, energy and talents to District of Columbia residents. TheFCAC Scholarship Program provides financial assistance to African-American graduates of public, private or charter high schools in D.C. who pursue the baccalaureate degree at an accredited university as a full-time student. At least one scholarship is specifically designated for a student attending an HBCU. TheFCAC also provides programs to support D.C. residents such as Delta GEMS for girls 14-18, Dr. Betty Shabazz Academy for girls 11-13, Emerging Artists and Community Day for residents of all ages. Thanks in advance for helping us raise funds to support our Programs and Scholarships for D.C. students!
