In April 1989, the North Arundel County Alumnae Chapter (NACAC) of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., was chartered by twenty-seven dynamic women determined to make a difference in the community. In the almost 25 years since NACAC was chartered, chapter members have been actively involved in efforts to enrich, impact, and serve the communities of West and North Anne Arundel County. NACAC’s Scholarship Program provides financial awards and support to graduating high school seniors and college freshmen who have demonstrated financial excellence, outstanding civic service and church-involvement. Scholarships are awarded to students attending any accredited HBCU or non-HBCU as a full-time student in the upcoming academic year. Our “Second Chance” scholarship awards go to adult women heads-of-household seeking to overcome life’s challenges and further their education.
