The Moonlight Run is southern Alberta's largest road race! With a 6K run/walk and a 10K run, there is something for everyone to participate in. The race starts at 8:00 PM from CASA and follows a route into the river valley before returning to CASA.
Moonlight Run 2019 will be held in honour of our former Moonlight Run Committee member Brent Botfield who passed away just a few months ago. Brent had been involved with the Moonlight Run and the broader running community for a number of years and was a big contributor with other events as well, the Lethbridge Airshow being his biggest passion. We will miss Brent at this year's event but are thankful for the many great moments we shared.
Pricing for this year's event is as follows:
This year's entry limit is 2500 participants. This popular race has typically filled up in the past, so get your entry in early!
The shirt deadline for this year is March 12, 2019 or when the entry limit is reached.
Package Pickup will be held at CASA (230 8 Street South):
A friend can pick up your race package for you.
Routes for both the 6K and 10K have changed this year due to construction on 3 Avenue South. Check out the map for details. A written description of the revised routes will be available soon.
Both the 6K and 10K courses will close at 9:30 PM.
Strollers are allowed but are encouraged to start towards the back of the group. There are no dogs allowed in either event.
There will be overall awards for the top male and female finishers in both the 6K and 10K events:
Medals will be awarded to the top five participants in each age category for both male and female.
The medal presentation will begin immediately after the event in CASA's community events room.
Moonlight Run results are available here.
You must run the distance that you enter and must wear your race number and timing chip. Changes to your selected distance will only be allowed up to March 18, 2019, and must be emailed to email@example.com.
We apologize for the inconvenience but no refunds will be issued. Entries may be transferred but the race committee must be notified at firstname.lastname@example.org.
If the Moonlight Run fills up a wait list will not be offered.
After the race, stick around for some food and fun!
The Moonlight Run has donated over $200,000 to local charities through funds raised during past events. This year's charity will be the South Alberta Walk for Dog Guides, a charity that trains service dogs for disabled individuals who qualify for a service dog.
