Aloha! This is my first year organizing Hot Pursuit and I'm so excited to make it the best one yet! I started working for Hospice Hawaii in 2016 and am so fortunate to be surrounded and inspired by compassionate individuals who put others before themselves. I learned to accept that death is a part of life’s journey and for patients to able to spend their last months, weeks, or days comfortably with their loved ones is a blessing. I am always reminded to live each day to the fullest so that I don’t have to be afraid. Although Medicare, Medicaid, and most private health insurance plans cover the cost of hospice care, some are uninsured or underinsured. We make sure that no one who is eligible for hospice care is turned away. There are also additional services that we provide on top of what is covered by insurance such as our specialized pediatric program, family grief programs, and complementary therapies.
