Meet Max a 15 week old standard poodle. Max was born with a congenital malformation of his lumbar vertebrae which in simple terms means that Max is paralyzed in his back end. Max has just finished a complete neurological examination and the doctors are confident that Max will remain paralyzed and incontinent for life. But there’s good news for sweet Max, the neurologist has ruled out the previous diagnosis of spina bifida so that means Max will not suffer from chronic pain that can be associated with that disease. So what’s next for this cutie? Well this super hero might possibly have to have an MRI, he will also be seeing a specialist to fit him with a specialized cushion for his bum and he will be working on some stretching of his back legs to help with his hind end mobility.
